A change of pace.
Savoring the slow season.
August tends to be a peaceful time on the east side of downtown Boulder. With so many locals traveling, it’s a wonderful opportunity for guests to enjoy a leisurely visit to our shop, whether meeting a friend for an overdue catch-up or settling in with a great book. As a working mom, I have a special fondness for the slower pace of these final weeks before the school year—the proverbial calm before the storm.
At the same time, August offers an abundance of bold flavors: juicy plums, ripe figs and the first pears of the season. Our homemade graham crackers go particularly well with rich fruit compotes, so you can expect to see that pairing over the next few weeks. Our rotating summer ricotta toast will also be overflowing with fresh and pickled blueberries, blackberries and stone fruits. We encourage you to soak up these sunny delicacies while they last—while we start dreaming about the baking spices, caramelized aromas and holiday treats just waiting on the far side of September.
P.S. - Save the date: Our second birthday falls on Tuesday, September 24th, and we’ll be hosting a full weekend of celebrations the 21st - 22nd. More details to come in our next newsletter!

SUPPER CLUBS
And just like that… the 2024 Supper Club at Süti & Co. is entirely sold out! Thank you to both our regulars and the new friends who have joined us this summer. We look forward to hosting two final dinners in August and September, and are already plotting some new ideas for the 2025 season.
COMMUNITY EVENTS
Workshops are on hiatus this month, due to summer travel, but you can look forward to both candle-making and pottery in September! In the meantime, we’re excited to continue hosting some of our favorite local musicians on the patio.

VANMOKUM
While everyone knows I love a handcrafted candle, I also appreciate the convenience of keeping these stylish, rechargeable lights on hand throughout my home. With four different settings, they offer such lovely, customizable ambiance—and can be an excellent choice for individuals who are sensitive to scents. Most importantly—they’re a splurge that’s worth every penny, outlasting dozens and dozens of the traditional candles I’ve purchased over the years.
LINEN TALES
This woman-owned company from Lithuania crafts my absolute favorite tea towels, aprons and napkin sets. Every item is pre-washed (so you know they won’t shrink!), and the soft, worn-in texture of their items is balanced with incredible durability over time. While it’s hard to choose a “favorite” item that they sell, I do love that their kitchen towels easily double as placemats for an elegant, yet homey table setting.
