Little everyday luxuries.

The finer things.

When we think about ”the finer things,” it’s easy to imagine the ostentatious, even careless spending of money. But for me, true luxury is being surrounded by well-loved objects that have only become more beautiful with use or simply having a spare moment to slow down in the middle of a busy day. Of course, this perspective directly influences the way we curate products and experiences for our customers.

In the case of enduring luxury, it’s hard for me to imagine a better example than Uashmana washable paper goods. But beyond their gorgeously worn-in style, it wasn’t until I used their products repeatedly that I realized how remarkably durable they are. I use their placemats to set the table for both casual and elevated gatherings, and I absolutely love the versatility of everything they make.

And when I have a moment to slow down, I’ve been savoring quiet moments with Lemuria candles. Throughout my childhood, there were fields of lily of the valley just steps from our door, and I’m always transported by the signature Skagit Valley scent Lemuria has crafted for our shop. But more recently, I’ve also been drawn to founder Dani Heller’s more savory scents—with notes of star anise, tomato, grass or vetiver.

Yet perhaps the greatest luxury is simply creative freedom—which is why we recently launched a weekly selection of off-the-menu baked goods solely available for online pre-order and pickup. Separate from the pastries you see for sale on our counter, these smaller-batch sweets are often more labor- or time-intensive offerings than we can produce at scale for the café. We love having the opportunity to share these gorgeous, flavorful treats—and we can’t wait for you to bring them home!

July Happenings

FLAVORS OF THE MONTH

With the change of seasons comes a new toast menu—including two delicious additions. First up: a Colorado smoked trout toast with house-pickled vegetables. And on the sweeter side, you’ll find fluffy challah, topped with a whipped ricotta-mascarpone spread and seasonal pickled or fresh fruits.
