Comings and goings.
Over the past few weeks at Süti & Co., we’ve said goodbye to some invaluable members of our team. Dani, one of our fearless front-of-house gals, has spent the past two years quietly growing her incredible candle brand (which we are proud to feature on our shelves), and has finally decided to work on that venture full-time!
A crazy little thing called love.
For many of us, 2025 got off to a bit of a rough start. From devastating wildfires, to personal struggles closer to home, it wasn’t exactly the “slow” or hygge start to the year that I typically have in mind. So as February comes around, I am leaning in and looking forward to celebrating love in all its forms, no matter how cheesy that might be.

Embracing the shift in seasons.
Even if you aren’t a chef or shop owner (like yours truly!), the mad dash of the holidays can feel like a bit of a whirlwind. Whether it’s choosing the perfect gift, creating a memorable menu or simply juggling a jam-packed schedule, many of us find ourselves craving a social break by the time the new year rolls around.

A time for traditions.
Growing up in Denmark, the holiday season always went by in a flash—with families putting up trees on Christmas Eve and taking down their decorations as soon as the new year had passed. As you might imagine, the American approach to the holidays—which essentially starts anytime after Halloween!—feels downright luxurious, and I enjoy the opportunity to make the most of this festive season.

Gift ideas for all your special someones.
As a person who is such a doer—an entrepreneur and a single mom—I’ve always struggled with allowing other people to take care of me. But earlier this year, during a two-week recovery from a medical procedure, I had the unusual experience of being forced to stay in one place, slow down and trust that both my family and our team at the shop had everything under control.

A season for settling in.
As we settle into the patterns of the school year and summer’s warmth begins to wane, I find new meaning in this morning ritual and my observance of the ways the days are shifting. I can sense the loss of nature’s abundance as winter approaches—the turning leaves a final gasp of fall’s glorious blaze.

Coming into our own.
For a brick-and-mortar business, simply making it through your first year is a remarkable act of survival. But as we near our second full turn around the sun, this anniversary takes on a whole different meaning. While that first year was a thrill, year two feels more like coming into our own, finding our people and creating a unique concept that resonates with our community.

A change of pace.
August tends to be a peaceful time on the east side of downtown Boulder. With so many locals traveling, it’s a wonderful opportunity for guests to enjoy a leisurely visit to our shop, whether meeting a friend for an overdue catch-up or settling in with a great book. As a working mom, I have a special fondness for the slower pace of these final weeks before the school year—the proverbial calm before the storm.

Little everyday luxuries.
When we think about ”the finer things,” it’s easy to imagine the ostentatious, even careless spending of money. But for me, true luxury is being surrounded by well-loved objects that have only become more beautiful with use or simply having a spare moment to slow down in the middle of a busy day. Of course, this perspective directly influences the way we curate products and experiences for our customers.

Make yourself at home.
While my Danish heart will always hold a special place for the slow months of winter, when it comes to the kitchen, there’s no season more exciting than summer. As we patiently wait for our patio planters to sprout—with violas, calendula, nasturtium, basil, dill, thyme and so much more!—we find ourselves quite literally buzzing with the energy of this brighter, lighter season.

A season of abundance.
As we enter into the season of abundance, it’s only fitting that we happen to be expanding our in-house team with the addition of a Pastry Sous Chef. We look forward to having our guests get to know this lovely new member of our team, and we’re also excited to share that this change will help us to expand our sweet and savory offerings throughout the coming months.

A chance to bloom.
There’s an expression in both Danish and English that captures my feelings about this time of year: April showers bring May flowers. Just like our patio planters—which will soon overflow with herbs and edible flowers—we have countless ideas and plans patiently waiting on their chance to bloom.

Connections + celebrations with our Boulder community.
Since opening our doors we’ve been honored to be featured in some of Colorado’s leading publications, from 5280 to Edible Denver. But when fellow Boulder entrepreneur Kelsie Michelson— of Tectonic—featured us in their online journal, it felt like a different, more personal kind of milestone.

For all the loves you choose to celebrate.
As much as I lean into the slow pace and coziness of January, the early days of winter often feel like they drag on forever. Perhaps this is bittersweet (like so many of my favorite flavors!), but I actually enjoy winter the most when spring is in sight and I can anticipate the change of seasons.

Rituals as resolutions.
I’ll let you in on a little secret: I actually love the post-holiday slowdown. Of course, gathering with friends and family is something I look forward to all year, but the joy of the holidays also comes with a flurry of events (and loads of extra baking) that can leave me feeling stretched a bit too thin.

The gift of gratitude.
Building a business can be a lonely road, especially as a “solopreneur”. Thankfully, Süti & Co. has always been a family venture, supported by both my children and the chosen family members who have helped make this dream a reality. So if you’ll indulge me, I’d like to express my gratitude.

A sweet + stylish holiday season.
As a chef, a lover of beautiful objects and a person who has dedicated her career to making other people happy, it’s safe to say that I take “gifting” pretty seriously. Yet where others may feel that the most impressive presents are lavish, ostentatious offerings, I gravitate to more thoughtful gestures that celebrate the unique qualities of the people I love.

The season of hygge.
Every year, when the mornings and evenings start to get chillier, my Danish soul starts to feel brighter and more cheerful. As I surround myself with candles, cooking heartier dishes and preserving the final fruits of summer, I can sense that the season of celebrations—of gathering around the table with loved ones—is upon us.

The sweetest anniversary.
When we first opened our doors in September of last year, to say we weren’t sure what to expect would be an understatement. Yet from the first person who stepped through our doors (Hi Priscilla!), to the many dozens of you who have not only stopped by, but keep coming back week after week…we truly cannot express our gratitude enough. To put it in numbers, 52% of all our customers have visited more than once—a massive win for any small business. In a world where attention is fleeting (and most trends are over before we even know they’ve started), the opportunity to slow down and meaningfully connect with our community is all we ever could have asked for.

Sharing our “secret” ingredients.
We all know a talented home cook who whips up the most wonderful meals out of nothing. Yet if you look closely at what these savvy hosts have in common, it’s likely their well-stocked pantries. As a chef with a hectic schedule, I’ve found that my version of well-stocked includes not only high-quality dry and canned goods, but also some versatile homemade items—like pickles, compound butters or finishing salts—that can be layered, sprinkled or drizzled over countless different dishes.
