A season for settling in.

A return to ritual and routine.

Every morning, I wake up at 5:30am and light a taper on my kitchen island. I open the curtains, crack the windows and take in a moment of quiet. The “tsh tsh” of the neighbor’s sprinkler. The chirping of crickets.

As we settle into the patterns of the school year and summer’s warmth begins to wane, I find new meaning in this morning ritual and my observance of the ways the days are shifting. I can sense the loss of nature’s abundance as winter approaches—the turning leaves a final gasp of fall’s glorious blaze.

But if I’m honest, I mostly find myself energized by this season of nesting. It’s a time for turning inward and a return to familiar routines. In my home kitchen, a long-dormant sourdough starter gets a new chance at life. Soups and stews simmer on the stovetop, their scent drawing my family closer to the literal warmth of the hearth. And while others will mourn the dimming light, I relish these moments of quiet togetherness.

At the shop, we invite you to experience this sense of hygge firsthand. In this otherwise understated season, why not choose to delight in rituals that bring more beauty to everyday moments? Whether that’s upgrading your coffee routine with a stunning handmade mug or indulging in our newest housemade syrups (orange cardamom, anyone?), there are few things more satisfying than seeing our guests treat themselves to these small pleasures.

FALL DRINKS

Orange cardamom. Pumpkin butternut spice. Salted caramel. The Starbucks crowd might call you “basic” for indulging in these delicious fall flavors, but we personally think our elevated housemade syrups make life just a little bit sweeter. Enjoy these new additions to our menu while they last!

HOLIDAY ORDERS

We know, we know—Halloween isn’t even here yet! But in anticipation of a busy November and December, we encourage guests to submit their holiday orders (for both pickup and shipping!) with plenty of advance notice. There is no such thing as too early—simply note your preferred timeline when you place your order online and we will save your place in our production queue.

LARGE POLKA DOT MUG

This small, female-owned pottery studio—known for their whimsical dot designs—is just a stone’s throw from where Andrea grew up in Denmark. Available in both black / cream and red / cream, these larger mugs are perfect for cozying up with a hot chocolate or a proper drip coffee. And unlike more fragile ceramics, these sturdy handmade cups feel like proper heirlooms you can pass down for decades.

LOW PASTA BOWLS

From salads to stews, these modern, beautifully glazed bowls have essentially replaced flat plates in Andrea’s home kitchen. Beyond their versatile design, these products also serve an important social purpose. Based in Tunisia, the pottery studio provides desperately needed employment opportunities to Tunisian women—often single mothers—who have been cast out by their husbands or their local communities.
